Prescription for Disaster

CALL YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS TODAY AND DEMAND REPEAL OF OBAMACARE!!

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

Yesterday, a federal court ruled in favor of 26 states, and against the federal government, by ruling that ALL of ObamaCare is unconstitutional.

Judge Roger Vinson’s opinion stated that Congress has no constitutional authority to require Americans to purchase health insurance and, given that the Obama Administration argued this provision was not “severable” from the rest of the ObamaCare law, also ruled that the whole law is unconstitutional.

This latest ruling marks a series of defeats for the President related to his signature healthcare law.

  • In November, the American people expressed their opposition to the President’s healthcare law by electing candidates who promised to repeal the law.

  • On January 18, 2011, a federal judge ruled in favor of Virginia and found that the individual mandate was unconstitutional.

  • On January 19, 2011, the House 245 to 189 to repeal the law on a bipartisan basis!  All of the House Republicans were joined by several House Democrats to repeal the law.

  • Yesterday, every Senate Republican joined together to introduce a bill to repeal ObamaCare.

According to the Wall Street Journal, an Administration official said in response to the ruling in the Florida lawsuit: “We will continue to operate as we have previously," So despite the voice of the American people and despite the clear decisions by the court that the law is unconstitutional, the Obama Administration remains undeterred in their efforts to implement the government takeover of healthcare, that will increase the cost of health insurance, and has hurt job creation.

In the face of this arrogance, we need to make our voices heard once again!

According to our friends at the American Healthcare Education Coalition, earlier today, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) offered an amendment to repeal ObamaCare in the Senate.  And a vote on the McConnell amendment could happen as early as Tuesday evening.

Call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to speak to the office of the Senators from your state!

Urge your Senators to vote “in favor of the McConnell amendment to the FAA bill that would repeal ObamaCare.”

There are also a number of Democratic Senators who are up for re-election in 2012. We also need to call their offices.

After you call your U.S. Senators, be sure to call the following Senators as well:

  • Senator Claire McCaskill (MO) at (202) 224-6154
  • Senator Jon Tester (MT) at (202) 224-2644
  • Senator Ben Nelson (NE) at (202) 224-6551
  • Senator Jim Webb (VA) at (202) 224-4024
  • Senator Joe Manchin (WV) at (202) 224-3954

Urge Your Representative to Vote for Repeal!

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) is keeping his commitment to the American people and bringing legislation to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives that would repeal ObamaCare.

ObamaCare contains a number of provisions that hurt seniors, by dramatically cutting Medicare; small businesses, by raising the cost of insurance; and the unemployed, by imposing job-killing taxes that will make it harder for Americans to find jobs.

Most recently, a federal judge in Virginia ruled that ObamaCare's requirement that every American obtain health insurance is unconstitutional.

CALL THE CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD TODAY at 202.224.3121
AND URGE YOUR MEMBER OF CONGRESS TO VOTE:
"YES" on the Rule for H.R. 2 and
"YES" on Final Passage of H.R. 2.

You can find your Member of Congress by visiting this site and entering your zipcode.
